One Community Together Turns 5
Just over 5 years ago, a group of local residents, community groups and local service providers met to look at the issues facing Clarence Plains, the result of this meeting was the creation of One Community Together (OCT) who support a welcoming, attractive, safe and proud Clarence Plains.
So, on Saturday afternoon, 17 August, at the Grace Centre in Rokeby, One Community Together threw a birthday party to celebrate 5 years of collective impact across Clarence Plains.
The event was a great success with over 200 community members and visitors attending the 5th birthday party event complete with party games, party food, giveaways and lots of fun and laughter.
The day was a huge success thanks to the hard work and generosity of everyone involved. The fabulous spread of party and healthy food, and the BBQ tended by Howrah Rotary Club, meant that there was something delicious for everyone to enjoy. Rokeby and Clarendon Vale Neighbourhood Centres baked the scrumptious birthday cupcakes.
There were also plenty of activities for everyone. The local fire fighters taught the kids about fire safety at home. Youth Beat hosted a kids corner, for those times when the kids were not already busy playing pass the parcel or enjoying the party food. Rosny Library had all the little ones bopping to a fun rock and rhyme session.
Many new faces came along to have fun and find out more about how their local community groups, services and residents are working together.
